Designed by Dr’s Emil and Estrid Vodder in Europe, Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) is an advanced therapy in which the practitioner uses a range of specialized, gentle, slow, and rhythmic techniques on the face and body, focusing directly on improving the function of the Lymphatic System. MLD can improve and facilitate the movement of lymphatic fluid from the body’s tissues into the lymphatic vessels, soothe and calm the nervous system, as well as provide pain relief. Book an entire session devoted to Manual Lymph Drainage or an area of the body can be integrated into your massage. Whether you are recovering from surgery or an injury, are dealing with chronic allergies/sinusitis/headaches, are in need of detox support, feeling sluggish, suffering from insomnia and fatigue, have poor circulation, have chronic aches and pains, and more, you can benefit from this treatment. Come well hydrated.

What are the benefits? MLD is both preventative and remedial and can enhance your well being. Furthermore, MLD:
- Is deeply relaxing
- Is very effective in combination with deep tissue work to help the muscles and fascia relax and flush the area
- Promotes the healing of fractures, torn ligaments, sprains, hematomas, and lessens pain.
- Can improve many chronic conditions: sinusitis, fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, scleroderma, acne, and other skin conditions
- May strengthen the immune system as part of “detox” treatment
- Relieves fluid congestion: swollen ankles, tired puffy eyes, and swollen legs due to pregnancy
- Is an effective component of the treatment and control of lymphedema (which may occur after cancer treatment)
- Assists in conditions arising from chronic venous insufficiency
- Promotes healing of wounds and burns and improves the appearance of old scars
- Minimizes or reduces stretch marks
- Can be used to speed healing after surgery
