FAQ + Policies

The following information is provided to help clients feel informed, prepared, and supported.

Booking & Scheduling

New client appointments are booked online through the scheduling system. Appointment availability may be limited, and advance booking is recommended.

Many established clients maintain ongoing appointments scheduled in advance. These are typically arranged directly with me during sessions or through follow-up communication.

New clients seeking earlier availability may be added to the cancellation list through my online scheduling system.

Payment for another person’s session may be arranged privately.

Arrival

Clients are asked to arrive approximately 10 minutes early for each session to allow time for check-in, treatment discussion, and any needed updates before the session begins. Arriving early helps create a relaxed beginning and preserves the full scheduled treatment time.

Free off-street parking is available, and the office is located on the first floor for ease of access.

During Sessions

Sessions are individualized and may include a blend of therapeutic and restorative approaches based on individual needs and goals.

Professional draping, comfort, and consent are prioritized throughout each session.

Sessions are generally quiet in nature to support relaxation, presence, and restoration.

Communication regarding comfort, temperature, positioning, or needed adjustments is always welcome.

Pricing & Payment

Sessions are all-inclusive, with no need to choose add-ons. Gratuity is neither expected nor required.

Accepted forms of payment include cash, check, Venmo, Apple Cash, Zelle, PayPal, and credit/debit card.

I do not bill insurance directly. Receipts may be provided upon request for possible HSA/FSA or out-of-network reimbursement.

Cancellation & Illness Policy

Please provide at least 24 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduled appointments whenever possible. Missed appointments or late cancellations may be charged the full session fee.

Because appointment times are limited and often reserved well in advance, repeated late cancellations, missed appointments, or ongoing rescheduling may result in discontinuation of services

Clients who are ill are asked to reschedule their appointment rather than attend while sick.

The health and wellbeing of both clients and practitioner are taken seriously, and every effort is made to maintain a safe, supportive environment for all.

Whenever possible, consideration is given to illness-related cancellations.

What is SMRT?

SMRT (Spontaneous Muscle Release Technique) is a gentle, nervous-system-oriented approach that works with areas of holding, pain, tension, and restriction without forceful pressure.

Rather than trying to “push through” tightness, SMRT uses positioning, compression, movement, and supportive touch to help the body soften and reorganize naturally.

Many clients find SMRT deeply calming, grounding, and restorative. It is often helpful for chronic tension, stress, and longstanding patterns of discomfort.

Manual Lymph Drainage

I am Vodder-trained and certified in Manual Lymph Drainage through Klose Training.

Manual Lymph Drainage is a gentle technique that supports circulation, relaxation, and the body’s natural fluid movement. It may be beneficial for:

• Swelling reduction
• Injury and post-surgical recovery
• Inflammation and congestion
• Relaxation and restorative support

A 90-minute session is recommended for full-body treatment or more comprehensive goals.

Certain medical conditions may not be appropriate for Manual Lymph Drainage and may require physician approval prior to treatment. Please reach out before booking with questions regarding active infection, blood clots, cancer treatment, major heart conditions, or complex lymphatic concerns.

Please note that I do not specialize in intensive post-cosmetic surgery recovery protocols, oncology massage, lymphedema treatment, or medically complex lymphatic conditions requiring specialized care.

Sound Baths

Both private and small-group crystal bowl sound bath experiences are offered and designed to support rest, reflection, grounding, and nervous-system restoration. Attendance is limited to 6 participants to ensure an intimate and comfortable experience.

Monthly group sound baths are booked through the online scheduling system. Private sound bath experiences may be arranged by email at mindfulmassagemilwaukie@gmail.com.

Comfortable floor setups with supportive pads, blankets, pillows, and eye pillows are provided. Clients are welcome to bring any additional items that help them feel comfortable.

Advance registration is required due to limited space. Please arrive approximately 10 minutes early to settle in comfortably before the event begins.

Sound baths may not be appropriate for individuals with seizure disorders, pacemakers, or certain implanted medical devices, serious sound sensitivity, or certain mental health conditions. Please reach out prior to participation with any questions or concerns.

Professional Boundaries & Safety

Mindful Massage Milwaukie is built on mutual respect, professionalism, safety, and thoughtful care.

Inappropriate behavior, harassment, sexual misconduct, intoxication, abusive or discriminatory behavior, or boundary violations will result in immediate termination of the session and refusal of future services.
